The client wanted to focus on its core business – operating the online platform – and needed a partner to handle the entire air freight logistics process, from arrival at the airport to final delivery. This required a logistics expert with specialised knowledge of customs and VAT regulations unique to each country.
Additionally, a seamless digital infrastructure was needed to map import and transport processes as well provide the end customer transparent updates about their shipment’s status.
Solution
MBS Logistics took over the entire customs clearance process for the air freight imports from China to Switzerland. A customised “injection solution” for customs clearance was implemented, which included the integration of IT systems for transmitting data to the customs office and reporting the customs status back to the client.
