You can’t go wrong here. BGH Feindraht GmbH’s recipe for success is made up of superlatives in terms of quality, precision and reliability. The expanding company was founded in 1996 and has been part of the BGH Edelstahlwerke GmbH group of companies since 2001. Today, the company is a global specialist in the production of stainless steel long products and nickel alloys.

In conversation with Managing Director Ralf Flassenberg, it quickly becomes clear that he is a “man of conviction”. At any rate, during a tour of the Nettetal site he leaves no doubt about his passion for the business. There is a lot of activity in the tidy halls: Here, stainless steel is drawn to the finest bare wires, wound on spools of different sizes, then carefully checked, packed and prepared for transport on pallets. “This is also where our new steel service center in Cleveland, USA is supplied from,” says the Managing Director.

Special wires for highest standards

BGH fine wires are used today in the most diverse areas. “Thanks to our extensive and flexible manufacturing spectrum, we can offer a tailor-made solution for almost every application,” says Flassenberg, explaining the company’s diversity. The main area of application is the manufacture of heating conductor and resistance wires, such as those used in the production of electric heating appliances – classics among the possible applications are electric heating elements for kitchen appliances and hair dryers. Using of ultra-modern wire drawing machines, equipped with appropriate diamond tools, as well as continuous annealing lines, the wires can be brought exactly to the desired dimensions and quality. In the dimensional range from 0.08 mm to 2.00 mm diameter, special wires for the highest demands, also in medical technology, can be produced. The sister company BGH Edelstahl Lugau in Saxony, another member of the group, is responsible for wire thicknesses that exceed these dimensions.

Logistics partner without “On hold”

Anja Küster, responsible for sales at BGH Feindraht, remembers exactly how and why the cooperation with MBS Logistics came about: “At that time we were looking for a reliable logistics partner for a large air freight shipment to the USA. Since the air freight space was heavily frequented at that time, we only received offers with “waiting loop”. MBS Logistics, on the other hand, spontaneously arranged a quick transport and our fine wires arrived at the customer’s premises only a short time later. There was a lot of praise for the good service and since then we have appreciated MBS Logistics as a logistics partner”.

BGH Feindraht already has an export share of 60 percent in relation to the total business. The products are primarily delivered to Asia and the USA. “With MBS we have found a partner at eye level who has the same quality principles as we do and who is committed to satisfying customers in the long term,” says Ralf Flassenberg.
