HILFSTRANSPORTE IN DIE UKRAINE
AID TRANSPORTS TO UKRAINE
MBS Logistics Köln
Bereits die ersten Bilder des Kriegs
zwischen Russland und der Ukraine
sorgten bei vielen Mitarbeitenden
der MBS in Köln für ein hohes Maß an
Solidarität und dem Wunsch, schnell
helfen zu wollen.
Und nicht nur das: Viele MBS-Kunden
meldeten sich aktiv bei uns und
fragten gezielt nach Möglichkeiten, sich
für die Menschen in der Ukraine einzusetzen.
Wenige Tage später war der Aufruf
zum Spendensammeln an die Mitarbeitenden
versandt. Kurz darauf stapelten
sich die Kartons, Kisten und Säcke im
Kölner MBS-Lager.
Am 09. März machten sich zwei LKW
aus Köln, einer davon von unserem
Kunden Centershop, auf dem Weg nach
Chelm. Zwei Tage später kamen sie an
ihrem Bestimmungsort an.
Die Freude vor Ort war riesig. Neben
Lebensmitteln, Spielzeug und Kuscheltieren
spendeten die Mitarbeitenden der
MBS und ihre Kunden vor allem Babynahrung,
Windeln, Medikamente, 6000
Liter Trinkwasser, Hygieneartikel, Batterien,
Powerbanks. „Anders als Kleidung
sind das nämlich Produkte, die die Menschen
dort dringend benötigten,“ erklärt
Brigitte Varvatsos, die gemeinsam mit
Doro Wüster den Hilfstransport maßgeblich
initiierte. Lächelnd fügt sie hinzu: „Es
war schön zu sehen, wie schnell wir eine
solche Aktion auf die Beine stellen können
und wie groß die Hilfsbereitschaft
bei den MBSlerinnen und MBSlern ist.
Natürlich sind wir keine Hilfsorganisation
und werden so etwas nicht jeden Tag
machen können, aber für uns alle war es
eine tolle Erfahrung zu sehen, wie viel wir
im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes bewegen
können.“
Already the first images of the war
between Russia and Ukraine caused
a high level of solidarity among many
MBS employees in Cologne and the
desire to help quickly.
And not only that: Many MBS customers
actively contacted us and specifically
asked for opportunities to help
the people in Ukraine. A few days later,
the call for donations was sent out to
the employees. Shortly afterwards, the
boxes, crates and sacks piled up in the
MBS warehouse in Cologne.
On 9 March, two trucks from Cologne,
one of them from our customer Centershop,
set off for Chelm. Two days later
they arrived at their destination.
The joy on site was enormous. In addition
to food, toys and cuddly toys, MBS
employees and their customers donated
baby food, nappies, medicines, 6000
litres of drinking water, hygiene articles,
batteries and power banks. "Unlike clothes,
these are products that the people
there urgently need," explains Brigitte
Varvatsos, who was instrumental in initiating
the aid transport together with
Doro Wüster. Smiling, she adds: "It was
nice to see how quickly we can set up
such an action and how great the willingness
to help is among MBS members. Of
course, we are not an aid organisation
and won't be able to do something like
this every day, but for all of us it was a
great experience to see how much we
can move in the truest sense of the
word." ■
